Action Photography Workshop

March 3rd - 10th, 2025

The Action Media Workshop is a once in a life time opportunity to improve your photography game with the aim of turning it into a profitable future business.

The focus of this camp is on preparing for and shooting professional skiers and snowboarders in action. We will also help you to develop strategies to market yourself and sell your work to sponsors and media outlets. To achieve this you will be working with real-life pros who are prepared to launch themselves off whatever the creative collective comes up with in the name of a good shot.

The Action Media Workshop will be lead by Niseko Photography’s own Senior Photographer Darren Teasdale who has worked for 25 years as an action sports photographer in the snow industry. The marketing strategies component will come from Elsie Nielsen, who has been working in the actions sports marketing game for more than 16 years.

  • Hokkaido is famous for its huge quantities of snowfall each year - it’s why we love it here! However, with this often comes snowy, cloudy, sometimes windy and low visibility conditions. We are confident that they’ll find an appropriate place for you and your crew each day of the camp. In fact, the ever changing weather means you’ll have a variety of conditions to shoot in, allowing you to capture pictures unique to Hokkaido.

Our accommodation’s are all located in tranquil settings, so offer the perfect place to relax and unwind after a day of pushing your limits in the elements. Although you’ll be staying off the beaten track, we will ensure there is transportation into the hassle and bussle for meals and socialising when you desire.

Most rooms are twin share, so if you’re travelling solo you’ll be paired with another guest.

  • Every camp is unique and offers something slightly different. What is guaranteed on each camp is a day jam packed with visiting epic locations to capture the perfect shot, unwinding in traditional Japanese onsens and dining at authentic restaurants.
