Hokkaido Avalanche Training 1
Want to increase your knowledge of avalanche safety and be more prepared when heading into the backcountry? Our partners at Niseko Photography & Guiding put safety at the forefront of everything they do. That’s why together we’re offering specific Hokkaido Avalanche Training courses in 2023/24 to all those who are interested.
These courses will be run by our lead guide who is an NZMGA Ski Guide and all participants will receive certification of completion.

Hokkaido Avalanche Training 2
This 4-day advanced avalanche course focusses on weather and snowpack evaluation, slope assessment and basic avalanche forecasting. It builds on the knowledge gained from our basic course and is tailored to the Japanese terrain and weather conditions.
These courses will be run by our lead guide who is an NZMGA Ski Guide and all participants will receive certification of completion.
