The Little Onsen Cabin - Ane

A thoughtfully designed, environmentally conscious, cedar home with a stylish moody atmosphere, stunning minimalist dark interior, local artworks, traditional Japanese features and antiques, iconic vintage designer chairs and bespoke handmade furniture. 

Ane is one of two ‘Little Onsen Cabins’ located in Yunosato Onsen and is a private oasis only a 5-10 minute drive to all of the best skiing and onsens in the area. The cabin is surrounded by forest and very few neighbours - a private retreat for your next ski or summer getaway.

The Little Onsen Cabins have been designed for those seeking a quality snow or summer adventure combined with peace and quiet and a more cultural Japanese experience. They are perfect as a base for those looking to take advantage of the superb side and backcountry skiing available in the area, as well as for those who just want to enjoy the tranquillity of staying in a natural hot spring village.

  • The cabin has a kitchen, lounge room and dining room featuring a traditional indoor irori hearth. There is one large king bedroom and a queen bedroom. It also includes:

  • The Niseko area receives huge snowfalls each year in winter. While staying at this cabin, guests will need to do some snow clearing, mainly the front entrance way and steps. The driveway will be cleared daily but if it snows after the tractor has been in the morning you may also need to clear it before leaving or entering. There are snow shovels supplied to do this and it is a great warm up before you go skiing :)

    We will clear the rest of the cabin weekly (depending on snowfall).

  • If you are seeking a more authentic Japanese experience, The Little Onsen Cabins are centrally located within a natural hot spring area with a huge selection of nearby onsen (not to mention your own private onsen in each cabin) and local restaurants to choose from (we’ll recommend our favourites). Or simply stay put and soak in your own private natural stone onsen, grill your dinner over the charcoal irori or cook in the fully equipped kitchens complete with Japanese pantry. In summer you can relax on private decks overlooking the forest, grill on the BBQ, hibachi or over the fire pit. 

    The Little Onsen Cabins are a 5 minute drive to the Moiwa and Niseko Annupuri ski resorts, 15 minutes to Higashiyama, 20 minutes to Grand Hirafu, 30 minutes to Hanazono, 35 minutes to Rusutsu, 50 minutes to Kiroro and 2 hours to Sapporo. They are also just a 10 minute drive from some of the best backcountry terrain in Hokkaido.  

  • The Little Onsen Cabins are located in Yunosato, Rankoshi, Isoya District, Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan. You will need to hire a car to access the cabins. There are a variety of car rental agencies to choose from in Chitose airport, Sapporo. The scenic drive to Niseko is approximately 2 hours.

    Please also note: there are no public transport options near the cabins and they are not within walking distance of the resorts.

    • 90 calendar days or more before the first night booked – 90% refund of all payments.

    • Within 90 days of the first night booked – 50% refund on nightly rate.

    • Within 30 days of the first night booked – 0% refund on nightly rate.

    • On cancellation of the above, any bond and cleaning fees paid which is in excess of the nightly rate will be refunded in full.

    • In the event of a natural or man-made disaster, including but not limited to an earthquake, tsunami, volcanic eruption, pandemic, nuclear meltdown or war that causes us to cease our entire operations or which means you are unable to undertake your holiday due to flight cancellations or travel restrictions, accommodation dates will be transferrable to another date without additional cost. This does not limit your option to request a refund as provided above.

  • We ask you to pay in full in advance, and then we adhere to our cancellation policy as above.

    You are also required to provide your credit card details as a deposit. If you or your guests cause any damage to the property during your stay then this will be charged to cover the costs of the damage.
