Toka is a newly renovated cabin nestled in the quiet town of Biei. It is the perfect base for shredders looking for the ultimate Japanese powder experience as it is within 30-40 mins drive to the best of the best lift access and backcountry ski touring in Hokkaido.
It is also right in the middle of the flower festival for summer. A trip in the warmer months will have you seeing the vibrant lavender fields, wide blue skies and the famous Shirogane Blue Pond.

Toka sleeps 8 comfortably across 3 bedrooms, and has an additional baby/toddler cot off the second bedroom downstairs.

The house has an open kitchen lounge room area, bathroom (which includes the laundry and toilet) and an entry room (known as a genkan) which is great for drying ski gear in winter and muddy boots in summer.
There is a washer/dryer, convection oven and a nice sized kitchen and entertaining area. There is wifi with unlimited downloads, Apple TV with Netflix and Red Bull TV.

Central Hokkaido receives huge snowfalls each year in winter. While staying at this lodge, guests will need to do some snow clearing, including stairs and entrance ways. You must also snow clear the driveway yourself at least daily and on 30cm + days often twice.
We will clear the rest of the house approximately once per week (depending on snowfall) but you must maintain the driveway. There are snow shovels supplied to do this and it is a great warm up before you go skiing ;)

Biei is located between Asahikawa and Furano in stunning Central Hokkaido. It is a valley that is surrounded by the Daisetuzan Mountain Range and has infinite rolling hills across flower fields in summer and surrounded by the best ski areas in winter.
Toka is 40 minutes drive to Asahidake and Tokachidake backcountry ski areas, 40 minutes to Furano and Kamui Ski Resorts and 90 minutes to Kurodake. Surrounded by the flower fields in summer and 20 minutes drive to blue pond and Shirogane Falls.

The house is i town so walking distance to the train station and in summer it is easy to get around on bikes. In winter we recommend hiring a car so that you can get to the local ski resorts.

90 calendar days or more before the first night booked – 90% refund of all payments.
Within 90 days of the first night booked – 50% refund on nightly rate.
Within 30 days of the first night booked – 0% refund on nightly rate.
On cancellation of the above, any bond and cleaning fees paid which is in excess of the nightly rate will be refunded in full.
In the event of a natural or man-made disaster, including but not limited to an earthquake, tsunami, volcanic eruption, pandemic, nuclear meltdown or war that causes us to cease our entire operations or which means you are unable to undertake your holiday due to flight cancellations or travel restrictions, accommodation dates will be transferrable to another date without additional cost. This does not limit your option to request a refund as provided above.

We ask you to pay in full in advance, and then we adhere to our cancellation policy as above.
You are also required to pay a refundable ¥30,000 bond (security deposit). If you or your guests cause any damage to the property during your stay then this bond will be used to cover the costs of the damage.
If the costs of damage exceed the bond amount you remain responsible for the full cost of the damage.
