Climbing Tours

Take a tour with an experienced Climbing Guide in Hokkaido.

Guided Ice Climb

  • Ice Climbing is an exciting, active, and growing sport. Hokkaido offers some of the best ice climbing in Japan. In addition to long and challenging multi-pitch routes, there are fantastic beginner areas. Wuirda Kaisa Climbing gym can connect you with guides for a wide range of ice climbing from instruction and guiding for people of all skill levels. Whether you are a complete beginner who has never ice climbed before or a highly skilled climber looking to tick off the list of classics, we invite you to join us for an adventure. To give you a better ice climbing experience you will need some information that may help you to further enjoy the ice climbing sport and provide you with some insight.

The ice climbing season in Hokkaido runs from around the End of December to the middle of March depending on temperatures and elevation. Most of the ice climbs are close to the ocean. Higher elevation climbs (north-facing routes) can be climbed well into April depending on temperatures and avalanche hazards. These will also be further in mainland Hokkaido (between Asahikawa, Obihiro, and Kitami).
